February 2018 - KLH Capital is pleased to announce it has completed a recapitalization of Apogee Translite (“Apogee”) and LumiNEXT (collectively with Apogee, the “Company”) a manufacturer of specialty transit, industrial, and architectural LED lighting fixtures. Apogee serves the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority and other transit systems across the country while LumiNEXT serves the architectural market. Both businesses operate out of the Company’s headquarters in Deer Park, NY.
Lynne and Richard Nicolai have been involved with the Company since 2001 which, at the time, focused exclusively on transit work. The Company grew consistently under the Nicolai’s leadership by responding to the complex requirements of transit projects and expanding into the architectural market under a separate brand called LumiNEXT. Today, both brands are known for high-quality, highly engineered LED lighting fixtures and premium customer service.
“Richard and his team have done an incredible job growing the company into a premier, custom lighting manufacturer addressing the needs of the country’s largest transit systems and commercial construction projects,” said Josh Kuder, Partner at KLH Capital. “We are excited to partner with the Company as they build upon their success and expand their business.” Mr. Nicolai, President and CEO, added, “It has been a pleasure working with the KLH team on this transaction and I know their experience will be valuable to achieving our goals as we enter this next phase of our growth strategy.”
Both Richard and the management team will be shareholders in the new partnership with KLH. The transaction was financed together with Salem Capital Partners and USAmeribank/Valley National Bank.
